Any resident of Braintree who is 63 years of age or older may take classes in any semester at 50% of the class price. This discount does not apply to outdoor recreation classes, lab fees, or courses taken through the After School Conservatory. CHANGES Braintree Community Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel courses, to change times or locations, and to substitute instructors. CLASS CANCELLATIONS When day school is canceled due to inclement weather, there are no evening classes. School weather cancellations are broadcast over WBZ and WJDA as well as channels 4, 5, 7, 25, 38, and 56. In the event of an emergency class cancellation, instructors will inform students. COURSE ADMISSION Classes are open to Braintree and non-Braintree residents at least 18 years of age (with the exception of SAT prep courses). ENTRY POLICY Everyone must enter Braintree High School at the front entrance of the building near the flag pole. All others doors are locked. LAB FEES Unless otherwise noted, lab fees will be collected by instructors on the first night of class. MAKEUP CLASSES Makeup classes will be arranged for any postponed classes; contact your instructor at the next regular class meeting for details. NO COURSE CONFIRMATIONS No confirmations are given. You are enrolled in your course and placed on the class list as soon as your registration form and payment are received. Only students in canceled or oversubscribed courses will be notified. For those students, refunds are processed 4 to 6 weeks after completion of the first week of classes. NO SMOKING LAW In accordance with state law and Braintree School Committee policy, no smoking is permitted anywhere on school property, indoors or out! Your compliance is appreciated. PARKING Please note the "No Parking - Fire Lane" areas. All are asked to park in the school parking lots. No parking is permitted along the sides of the roads or in fire lanes at Braintree High School. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and towed by the Braintree Police Department at the owner's expense. PAYMENTS A separate registration form and a separate check are required for each course taken. Full payment must accompany your registration. Please make checks and money orders payable to the Town of Braintree. All registration fees are nonrefundable, except when a course has been canceled or is full. There is a convenience fee when using a credit card for online registration. In the event of an overbooked or undersubscribed class, the convenience fee is not refundable. Please note that bank and town fees are assessed for any bounced checks. REFUNDS Only students in canceled or oversubscribed courses will be notified. For those students, refunds are processed 4 to 6 weeks after completion of the first week of classes. |
